1. First of all, me:
My name is Bart. I'm one of some volunteers in a Museum in Belgium.
The main reason I make a post like this is because we're looking a long time
for Documents and PHOTOS of the Bunker during World War II.
Bunker Information:
"SK1 Bunker Atlantikwall"
a) Location: Park den Brandt - Wilrijk
b) What: It was the HQ of the Atlantikwall in Belgium
a) Commander: Werner Albrecht Freiherr von und zu Gilsa
b) ArmeeKorps: LXXXIX. Armeekorps (89.)
2. Why:
As I said, because we're looking a long time for Documents and Photos of the Bunker.
We know that there were pictures taken of the village (Wilrijk) and there are photos of surrounding streets (when the Allied liberated the village(s)) so there have to be photos of the Bunker too. We know that there were Germans (ofcourse) but there were American and Brittish soldiers too (+ Canadians?).
3. What:
So please people, if you have or you know someone with Photos or Documents of the SK1 Bunker Atlantikwall or from the surrounding bunkers, please tell us.
If you heard about the SK1 you may tell us.
We know that the Soldiers slept in the houses surrounding the bunker. AND it could be that Werner Albrecht Freiherr von und zu Gilsa slept some days in the houses too.

Died: 08/05/1945 or 09/05/1945 (Freitod / Suicide)
