    Post Your Funny Documents!!

I found the following document for Organization Todt, it’s a captured German document from the west. It shows the breakdown of organization towards the end of the War, it appears that Organization Todt were getting second hand men, this certainly gives definite evidence of deterioration in the stabilized West . To say the least .....

Reference: Inventory and issue of materials.

At the beginning of this year we attempted to take an inventory here although it was much too late. The first storekeeper was GREB. He did not take any inventory but sold all the goods and put the money into his own pocket. For this he was sentenced to imprisonment. His successor was POLTL. He was an administrative employee who, although he did not actually sell anything, also did not attempt inventory. The third storekeeper was HECKMAN. This man also failed to take any inventory of blackmailed everyone to whom he sold organization Todt goods in exchange for tobacco in brandy. He too had to be replaced. His successor was HIPPER. His only shortcomings was the the fact he could neither read nor write, and mixed up all the accounts. The fifth storekeeper within the ten months, is TRUMANN, employed here since 20.9.43. This man was released by the personal administration 18.5.43. and was transferred to this branch. At that time I was grateful for the personnel and took anyone who seem suitable. But as it happens, the reason for TRUMANN’s reassignment to this post is his near-blindness and consequently he can’t even attempt inventory because he positively cannot see a thing.

Never the less, now, after nearly a year, the inventory must be undertaken. Stock must be taken of all Reich property. Among all men employed here, there’s not one capable of performing this task. If all instructions issued by headquarters are to be carried out I must request that the assignment to this branch of a suitable and capable man to replace TRUMANN.

    Great document Herr Koepp!

    This is my favorite.
Probably it won't say much to others than Germans and Dutch.

Let me explain: probably there will be reached a point in every discussion about the war between Germans and Dutch, where the Dutchman asks the German: ‘What did you do with my bicycle?’
I think this letter was the first time a Dutch asked a German if he could get his bike back.
Which is politely rejected by the commander and Hauptmann from the Leiden district.

That's a good bike document, I bet the German felt disrespected being asked/told to find this guys bike.

Also on the photo, what are they doing to that poor snowman??

hey anything funny will work so if you have something please post it, we need some laughs here once in a while!

            thanks greg

Here's one that's funny and sinister at the same time. Sinister as it comes from Ferdinand Schörner, later to become notorious for his harsh discipline and prosecuted for it post-war.

Basically it's Schörner complaining to the commander of a supply unit about the antics of some drivers from a tanker column calling them 'bandits of the eismeerstrasse' and demanding them disciplined.

Anyway, a native German speaker could do a proper job translating it.

Ya, think they cared about what he was complaining about.

Like they were going to do an investigation and find the Tankers! How funny!! you would think they threw people in Camp's for complaining?
