EK2 Award Date

Hello All

I was wondering about the date on the award certificate for an EK2. Is it the date that saw the action leading to the EK2, the date the decision was made to award the EK2 or the day it was presented? Trying to get an idea as I'm hoping to get an idea as to what would've led to it being awarded.

In most cases it was the date it was awarded in orders. That could also be the same day it was physically awarded. You can also get them dated to the day of the action.

The length of time between action and award can vary a lot, it helps to have a bit of background info on the awardee, what it was awarded for (an EK could be awarded for a serious wound) and who awarded it (as in which authority not the person signing).
