A finding at the Antique store.....

    Hey guys!
I thought ya'll might like to see what I got at the antique store today, Its a German solider who has just gotten married. He is winner of the The March 13, 1938 Commemorative Medal, The October 1 1938 Commemorative Medal, the Commemorative Medal for the Crusade Against Communism, and if you look on his left arm you will see a small part of the Krim badge. I paid $15 for this WITH the frame + its a 7x9 photo.
Did I do good? Also how would he have won the Commemorative Medal for the Crusade Against Communism???
    Thanks A lot!!!

This medal is common in groups to Krimea veterans, the Rumanians bestowed it to his German comrades often, I have two Krimschild winners groups that also received this decoration. Usually comes with a silver bar with the name of the place where it was won.

Very nice photo Tyler and I think that I reach, again I lost almost 50 post in the last uppdate, the 1.000 post.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

The German "1941/42 Winter War In the East" Medal ribbon is probably hidden by his bride, along with potential EK2 or KVK2X also from his front buttonhole, since he was a frontline (shield) soldier and not a rear area type. The Rumanian CAC Medal was also often given to German Military Mission in Rumania types hundreds of miles from the front.

Yes, you did good indeed. Large photos are hard to find over here.

Soon, soon you will have albums full, hundreds... thousands...

it's all in the tiniest details....

And aren't ORIGINAL photos much more satisfying than book ones?

You did very well indeed. Congratulations. Photo was taken @late Fall of 1942-1945. Probably 1943-44 I'd guess though.

Yes this is exactly what I was thinking to

But also could this be a Kuban shield, is there anyway of telling any difference?

Zoom in on that shield rim you've shown in the closeups and make it bigger. Too small there still for old eyes but you may be right, given what looks like the two horizontal lines that seem to show there...

PS, before you get stuck in decades of near sighted squinting, be VERY glad scanning allows perfect quality enlargements these days.

            If only...

                Hi
According to your close up scan, it might be both.
I agree with Angel : I think that the Romanian ribbon bar and the Krim shiled is a combo which makes more sense.
                Regards
                Denis
