    Mein Kampf (French version)

    Hello all,

Yesterday I was able to buy this French version from Mein Kampf, dated 1939.
But there is something strange about this one, every page is fixed to the page next to it.
What is the purpose of this??
    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Nick

If anybody does bookbinding, they might know for sure. But it looks like it is "unfinished", that is, the paper has not been cut after being bound together, so they're still all attached.

      Hello Hank,

      Thank you for your reply.
That could be a logical explenation.
Strange that the previous owner(s) didn't cut the paper.
But there can be some explenations for that.

If anyone has other ideas, I would like to hear them

      Kind regards,
      Nick

Hank is basically correct. However, the question remains whether or not the book was to be sold like this. I have read somewhere that for example in Denmark the (softcover ?) books were sold like this for the reader to cut.

        Anyhow, an interesting find.

I believe this was common with 20s-50s softcover books in France. I have a couple more various ones (wartime) that have the same thing.

Today, this would be considered an unfinished product, but I believe at the time it may have been how they were sold sometimes.
