    SS Soldier

A while ago I bought a photograph of a German SS soldier.
But I can't find out the which part of the SS he belonged to.
I thought he was part of SS regiment "Der Fuhrer", because of the small three after SS.
But the edges on the collar tabs are white, while the lines on the collar tabs of the soldier are striped black and white.
And why is there notthing on his cufftitle, maybe it's Algemeine SS and the number just isn't visible?
Does anybody know if the Soldier is really from the SS Regiment "Der Fuhrer" or from something else?
I have also asked this question on other forums, but they aren't sure about it.
So maybe this forum can help me.

I think he is a member of "Der Fuhrer", indeed because of the 3 after the runes.

But the edges on the collar tabs are white, while the lines on the collar tabs of the soldier are striped black and white.
There is a difference between Officer tabs and EM/NCO tabs.
The Officer tabs had white edges, but the EM/NCO had striped black and white.

I think the soldier on the photo wears a blank cufftitle.
These were worn by SD and administratative branches of the SS, if I'm correct.

But let us wait what others say.

    Regards,
    Nick

      Beg to differ:

If you look closely at the photograph, you can tell that both the piping on his collar patches and his collar are in alternating black and aluminum (not white) cord, which at this time was worn by other ranks and NCOs, while officers had aluminum piping. No problem, here.
(The earlier configuration with white collar patch piping for other ranks and black/aluminum for NCOs and junior officers was obsolete after 1934.)

As for the cuff title: The first battalion of the Regiment "Der Führer" had been formed by April 1938, but the Regiment was officially awarded its name only several months later, at the Nuremberg Party Day Rally in September 1938. Certainly, the named cuff title could not have been worn before that date.
However, before they were awarded their unit cufftitles, other SS-VT units (such as the Pioniersturmbann or the Nachrichtensturmbann initially wore a blank cuff title too, so, apparently, what we see here is an early recruit of "Der Führer", photographed in 1938.

Dutch, I think that the picture might be a post war item, I've never seen a blank cuff title with such thick border and also the thick white border on the visor looks out of place. Is the collar tab bullion stitching, it looks white from the picture you took. Sonny

Well, I don't know if it is postwar, the back of the picture looks old enough to be original ww2.
I will post some details of the visor cap and collar tabs soon.

Here is an enlargement of the cufftitle. It appears that there is something
there. Could it possibly a star woven in a dark colored thread (or some similar
            shape)?

              Thanks for the enlargement.
But is there no one who knows an awnser?

HPL2008 has already provided the answer in his earlier post.

No, I meant if it was a postwar item or not.
