    German maps

    Hello,

I have several German maps of Holland.
Some are in collor and some aren't.
Can anyone tell me why this is?

    Regards,

    Floris

colour printing was not nearly as widespread as it is today.

Look at where the maps came from, their survey dates, printers or map makers. If the Netherlands is anything like Norway then the Germans did the same, simply order copies of existing maps from existing makers, some were black and white and some were colour.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

        Hello,

        Thanks for your replies.
I have taken a closer look at the maps and saw differrent manufactors and different years of printing. But all seem to be printed in Germany, had the same scale and same type of printing.

Hello Floris, I unfortunately can't help you with your question but do you got some German maps of the North of Holland?, especially Friesland or Groningen?.

Do you maybe got maps of the North-west of Holland?
The "state/province" is called Noord-Holland and some city's are: Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Castricum, Heemskerk, Bakkum, Beverwijk...
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Rick & Meindert, I only have maps of southern and eastern Holland from my own collection.
I'am also still looking for 's Hertogenbosch-Ost and Nijmegen/Arnhem maps.
I had won a collored Nijmegen map on E-bay once, but the seller didn't receive any money he said. Lost...55 uk pound!

              Meindert send you a pm.
