    DKiG Recommendation for SS-Obstbf Heinz Lammerding

    Hello all,

    Would be grateful for any advice or insight as documents are not a strong suit in my collecting endeavours! Some time ago, in part trade, I received copy of a recommendation by Eicke and supported by Hansen (Commanding 10th Corps) for the DKiG (dated 12 November 1941) for Obstbf Heinz Lammerding (then 1a of the SS-Tk Division). He clearly did not receive the DKiG as a result of this recommendation; his award was dated April 24, 1943 (see Mark Yerger's Waffen-SS Commander, Vol 2, page 74).

    Would be grateful for comment on this document - as an aside, it came from a well known and well-regarded source.

        Fourth...personal details seem correct (award dates of EK I and II; date of promotion to his current rank; post of Commander of the SS-TK Pioneer battalion; etc).
