                        joeimwalle,

                        very nice set.

One question came to my mind when I was watching the documtens: How could he have been awarded the KVK in 1944 although he had been awarded the Iron Cross in 1940? Wouldn't that have been against the rules?

                        Regards

Why should it be against the rules? The KVK was a completely different series for different things. It's not unusual to see for someone that picked up a an EKII or even the EKI early in the war then get a KVKII towards the end.

By the way, the last award is for the drivers profficiency badge in gold, not the wound badge.

Because it is explicitly mentioned in "the rules".

                            Reichsgesetzblatt, 24. Oktober 1939, Nr. 209, Seite 2069:

"Verordnung über die Stiftung des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes.

                            Artikel 4

I don't know if this was changed during the war...

It changed, not sure if it was in Aug.40 or Sept.41 (my German is too shaky to be sure) but in the July '43 copy of Orden un Ehrenzeichen, Merkblatt 15/5, Artikel 4 has been completely re-written.
