In the Donez region Fegelein's unit was ordered to the extreme right of the Division and Armee. A difficult position where Army Groups link. The Russian army had taken a part of the German positions and was trying to roll up the line. Given the precarious situation Fegelein decided to attack without fully deploying his regiment. In a ferocious attack the enemy was driven back until the main position was again in German hands.
