    RK winner identification

Does anyone have a name for this guy?

    It's from Denmark, November 1944. Most likely Pz.Abt. 55.

Not a very good photgraph, but nonetheless, maybe someone has some info...

    Hello
Since the soldier is a OL recipient and a NCO (see tresse around the collar) : if he belonged to panzerwaffe, he might be Ofw. Strippel.
However, I don't know the full military career for Ofw. Strippel and can't say whether he was stationed in Danemark or not.
I also give a list of possible soliders who might match with yours (i.e. NCO OL recipients , not posthumosuly awarded, before 01/12/44).

    BOIGK HEINRICH
    BONK GEORG
    HRUSTAK MARTIN
    KAMINSKY EMIL
    KARL JOSEF
    KOCH WILLI
    KOHNZ BRUNO
    KRUSE ERNST
    MÖSE WALTER
    PILARSKI HUBERT
    PRIMOZIC HUGO
    REUTER BENNO
    RIETSCHER GEORG
    SCHLEE RUDOLF
    SCHREIBER JOSEF
    SCHWERDFEGER JOHANN
    WEGERER FERDINAND

    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Denis

Thank you very much for your help. While Ofw. Strippel wasn't in the Pz.Abt. 55 (as far as I have been able to find out), him, and your list, is still very good starting point.

I may be on to the location of this photo (and the series of photographs that goes with it, see links below) at the moment, and if my hunch is correct, this is in fact Pz.Abt. 55/233. Pz.Abt.

Pz.Abt. 55 was under the command of Stug.Abt. 400 at some point, although I don't have a date. Possible an award winner from this unit?

Anyways, here are more photos from the series. That's a Bergepanzer III on one of the photographs.

It is definitely not Strippel or Bonk. But I do not know who it IS.

          Back to Ritterkreuzträgere of the 233. Pz.Div., namely Pz.Abt. 55, and possibly 400. Stug.Abt.

I haven't been able to find much on Google so far, but I did stumble across Akiras collection from 233. Pz.Div. See:

I couldn't find this guy on any of the photos, though...

            Hello
After looking and looking the Kc holder, I am not sure that he was an Eichenlaubträger. The dot above the KC on the photo might also be the button of his jacket.
If you look for all NCO/EM KC holder who were awarded the RK before 01/12/44 , you will have 907 matching people !!
I have also looked for RKT who were awarded the KC as being members of Pz. Abt. 55, 233 or St. Gesch. Abt. 400 but I found nobody.
I found strange that this soldier is shown wearing a standard tunic instead of a black or field grey wrapper jacket (as he should proudly wear if he belongs to panzertrupen or field artillery branch). What is your opinion about that ?
Would anybody be able to provide the full list of all German units stationed in Danemark between June, 1944 and May, 1945 ? This might really help us.
            Regards
            Denis

How about just the 233. Pz.Div.? He might not originally have been part of the unit...

I also seem to be able to find info that suggest that the 55. Pz.Abt. was either an Erstatz or Ausbildungs unit - so he might be an instructor of some kind, and not a part of the division?

The button would seem a bit high placed when compared to the other jackets on the photos to be the button. It's also slightly larger...

In either case, he isn't on any of the two group photos...
