      Hi Karl,

Here are two taken during the long marches by a non-motorised infantry regiment from Holland to Belgium in may 1940.

A theme familiar to any soldier and a skill as relevant to today as it was then and has been throughout history. The ability to be able to sleep whenever and wherever the opportunity arises.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Interesting to see on picture nr2 is that the catch of his ww1 iron cross probably broke off during combat, what made it turn. Very nice photo!
            Kind regards,
            Giel

IMO that is from the lens angle. Strange effect.

                        Good idea for a thread!

Here's one from my collection... grenadiers from 1. Panzer-Division.

Here's another, this time a pioneer soldier from Pi.Btl.651 during summer 1942. He's dirty and just looks "over it".
