Kassel finds 1st part

A nice show that brings to my collection a couple of nice group, first a nice group to an Pionier officer.

He help building the defense of the West front so he was rewarded with the proper medal.

At the start of the Russian campaign there was a lot of work and sometimes under hard circunstances that requires some extra valor and he was rewarded for doing it.

He had been told to take cover that he was not bulletproof, but he didn't do it so......

He decided to continue to performe as he has been teached and so he was recompensed again

As a real frontline officer he wore this with proud...........

He received this letter for the two last awards

Looks like german soldiers never learn the lesson or, maybe, this is something that goes with the rank........

Unafortunately his DKiG citation was lost as his Ostmedaille, but we have this letter that confirms his award

Did you pick them up in one go? Whats the next step... collect the badges? Is this the thing to do or do you stop at the paperwork? (im always learning) Dan

I pick up all togheter with some minor documents from his mother and some RAD photos from the soldier. I am not particular fan of adding badges and medals to complete groups as they don't belong to each other so I never do it, I have some medals but not for compleing groups but to have the medals that were awarded.

Pioniers often fought very close so here we have the result............

Good to see that you found some nice things among all the fakes in Kassel!

Can´t understand why the policeofficers didn´t arrest all the fraudes there, instead of searching for uncovered swastikas and SS-runes!

....... and he finally received this for continous fights seeing the white in the enemy's eyes. Quite a rare award.

I have seen a lot of good pieces, some small and common groups with reasonable prices, but the big ones have crazy request by their owners/dealers so I can not take a couple of spectacular ones that I see.........

You are right, police must arrest those fraudsters instead of looking for historical items without political value............
