Wow that was a great tread. Thanks so much for takeing the time to post it.....

But Wait, there's more. Yes that's right, there is even more yet to be posted. But I will post only a few more and then stop for a while. What I would like to do, is either continue on with this thread a little later down the road, or start another one when I get more pictures from his service in France & Italy. Thanks for the compliments from everone, and also those who responded and helped piece things together, and also I just had to share these with all since I thought everyone would be interested.

Fortification

Here is Heinrich looking for places to make fortifications for himself and his platoon. He states he borrowed both the horse and the dozer. He then dug them all in for a protective defensive perimeter. Circa 1942. Pictures are copy right protected.

Berlin

At first I had thought that these were normal mini post-cards, but way too small for that. They are smaller than most all post-cards, and a little bit thicker too. So I have to assume they were taken by many soldiers, and then taken to studios. I think that, or more than likely they were novelty items one could collect and mail home to the loved ones as stationary or so. Pictures are copy right protected.
