Indian National Legion—Azad Hind. However they are not DAK men.
Probably captured in Africa but never served with the Afrika Korps. They are simply wearing tropical uniform. These pics would have been taken in France or Germany.

the cufftitle would most likely have been from the German officer associated with these men.
Again, these Azad Hind men did NOT serve in North Africa as German troops. Individuals maybe, but as a unit, no.
Many or most of them however would have served in North Africa with the Indian/British army before they were captured.

Please do not be fooled by the common misconception that tropical uniform automatically equals service in Africa.

These photos are not AfrikaKorps. They are much rarer than Afrikakorps !!

Free Indian Legion

For today it´s my first reply on this outstanding genius website.
I hope I´ve done everything right.

The photos showing men of Free Indian Legion during their training courses in Königsbrück / Saxony.

We have a huge collection of photos from a former training officer at Königsbrück for antitank, pioneer and motar team trainings. Even some graet photos bearing the standard.

All officers, NCO´s and men wear tropical uniforms in DAK style.

After reading this thread I reminded to have a complete small photo album of WH troops in Krakow (Poland) with a couple of shots showing black WH soldiers and one with turban too!!!As soon as my scan will "revive", I will put them here!
