    Post your pioneer photos

Im looking for period photos of german pionier troops in action please, i know that you guys must have some and ive been succesfull before here! Im looking for photos that have them using various equipment such as mine detectors and mines etc. Also if there are some photos of them wearing the side pouches and engineers backpacks i would be very grateful to see them.

                      Post your pioneer photos

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on pioneers, the jack-of-all-trades in the Wehrmacht. I've got a few pioneer albums and konvolut in my collection, so I'll start.

First up is a selection of photos from a Pionier-Bataillon 50 album, all of which were taken during Barbarossa in 1941.

                      1. A group of pioneers watch with great interest as a 20-tonne Sturmgeschütz puts their handiwork to the test.

                      All the best,
                      Jason

I may have some, but it's hard to tell sometimes if it's not in a lot.

I always find it so interesting how they are taught to make bridges so quickly so they can have that sort of load pass over.

In the distance (far left), a pioneer patrol returns after blowing up a Russian armoured and conducting a sweep of the long grass.

On 31 August, 1941, Pi.Btl.50, together with other pioneer units, erected a long bridge over the Dnepr.
