    Wanted: Signature Anton Dostler

    Hi Guys,
I am looking for a signature of Generallt. Anton Dostler.
I am the owner of an IC2 award document to a soldier of Inf.Rgt.199 "List". It was awarded at the 26th of August in 1942. Unfortunately all available information provided by the internet does state Dostler was not commander of the ID.57. that time. If this is right I wonder who had signed my document. Any help is much appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Barmbeker

      Hi Simon,
      it can't be Blümm !!!
My signature is far too different to be "Blümm".
That's why I am looking for a signature of Dostler.

I am well aware that my signature does not fit into the common believe of the leadership/time structure of ID.57. However, this would not be the first time and my award document is a nearby veteran purchase. All circumstances and additional paperwork + awards MUST make me believe it is all okay. Sadly I can't post a picture myself. Sorry for that.

      Cheers,
      Barmbeker

Well i have seen Dostler's signature and i remember it being readable as such. I assume the document was issued by the 57 ID? Regiments were sometimes attached to other divisions.

The date was the 26th of August 1942 and the rank of the one given the signature was "Generallt.u.Kdr.57.Div.". From another collector I was now told the signature is "Siebert, Friedrich". This would fit good into the picture given the fact Dostler's signature is readable as such.
In addition it would mean that Siebert took over the commando 2 months earlier as mentioned in many publications.
My signature could be read as Siebert, that's okay also.

          Many thanks so far.

          Regards, Barmbeker

It could also be a back dated award, the date reflecting when the EKII was actually awarded, the award document following along some time later.
