Foreign Army Member

I just returned from Germany and while there picked up some items. The first being a picture of this foreign soldier. I thought he was member of the Hanschar division (hat emblem) but am not sure. Can anyone help? Thanks Jim

I'm no photo expert, Chief, but that's definitely not a Bosnian Moslem from the Handschar Division, or more correctly, 13. Waffen-Gebirgs-Division der SS Handschar (kroatische Nr. 1). They all wore the SS collar tabs. The fellow in the photo, which has been heavily retouched, seems to be Heer (Army). The emblem on his cap is probably the regular eagle that has been retouched to obliterate the swastika.

I found the Hanschar emblem and I agree it isn't that unit. But I have seen the emblem on the hat recently (its not an eagle) and am attempting to locate.
