    Newly found photos

    Hi!

I'm a new forum member. Thanks to those of you who helped on my post about my grandfather.

I recently went through my father's military footlocker and found quite a few interesting photos. Some have writing on the back; if anyone could help with translations it would be greatly appreciated!

My father liked to collect memorabilia, so I don't know how many of these are reproductions or if there are any "new" (undiscovered) photos. I don't see my grandfather in any of them, so I assume they were all purchased.

My scanner isn't working well, so I photographed the pictures and the backside where appropriate.

Here are a few of the more interesting ones:

Thanks for your help, hope you find something in the photos that might be useful to you as well!

    Amber

          Must be:

          Sarajevo 7.43
          Klaus der Partisan
          oder Hilfswilliger (HiWi)

Mike is helping me do some family research (and doing a fantastic job, by the way!). He interpreted it as:

            Sarajevo July 1943

Klauss the Partisan and volunteer helper (Hilfwillige). My adoption
            assumption appears valid.

Notice in the top photo that the obersturmführer is actually wearing his KVK II, that would mean either the photo was taken on the day he was awarded it or that there was some special occasion that day which permited the wearing of it, a wedding or posing for a formal photo etc.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
