iron cross first class award document

I have got an award certificate for the 1st class iron cross. It was issued on hitler's birthday (if that makes a difference)?
I have got the iron cross that came with this, but it is umarked on the back.
What i was wondering if does anyone know roughly how much it is worth as a pair? The document is not torn and there is no rust showing on the cross. Someone told me that it could be a souval cross, but i am not too sure.
I am not allowed to post photos (i don't know why) but as soon as i can i will scan it.
    many thanks,
    belinda

    Belinda,

Welcome to the WAF. Unless there is rock solid proof that the document and cross were issued to the same man, which in itself is very rare to find these days, we would have to value each item separately. As for the document, there are factors like who the person was, their unit, date of issue, who signed it, etc. It's all important to gauging a price. The Iron Cross needs to be seen as well before any comments can be made in regards to value too.

Gene's right, it's the content of the doc that gives it it's value, not really it's condition.
