    Amazing War Diary 1916-1940

    Hi

Quick Edit, also to make it a stranger day, what are the chances of this happening??
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=242417

What a strange day from houseclearance finds

One of the gems was this unbelievably kept War Diary.

The guy even made an Index Page of where he went in both wars

I guess his ww2 service was invasion of france, look at his maps.

The whole thing is 270 pages.

I cant read the schrift but my girlfriend started and said it was all kinds of stuuff from day to day life.

Also is a small excerpt from a Belgian LT that he writes as saying he picked it off the battlefield.

    Chec k it out

                        Ktb 1940

Hello Münster; yea a good stuff indeed . I could read that he was with the 13./ IR 333 which belonged to the 225 ID. That unit fought thru Netherlands and Belgium. Gee, if someone could translate at least an excerpt. Thanks for sharing it. Cheers. Tigre .

Tigre,,I can get through some of it and its very bizarre. My girlfriend can read it and she will go through it tognight. The Belgian excerpt is weird because he found it on the battle field and he talks about reading mein kampf in French, other things about food and coffee,,and then he also has a knoweldge of tactics. Looks like he was in France in the 1st WW and I bet that is also a good read. Very well put together!

OK my girl is translating a bit to me

                            He was IR 333

His job was to translate in Polish Frnch ETC when questioning suspicous civillaians, and he says he likes his job lol

He said the suspicous ones are sent to Gent

In Dunkirk he was there after the British left and that you can still see wreckage of ships everywhere

He writes about a storm in the channel and the next day how a lot of corpses washed up including an english pilot with his chest shot open, also lots of sea mines.

Lots of English planes and flak , he seems t o be anticipating invading England .

He complains that at Feldwebel on the last page they send him out of the Army and all the younger guys make fun of him,,and he closes by saying this is the thanks I get

He is a bit humorous and old fashioned..They had a KDF show and he said it was dirty lol
