How do you know these were broken up albums????

The two links you provided were by two different sellers on Ebay.
I would like to draw your attention to the skewness and creases of
each photographic papers though I do not know who "meganlcsw" is...

Bill, Sudek13 is still alive and unfortunately well on the panzer shots.

As for what Haruki-san is pointing out. it appears, and I agree, the album bought by meganlcsw is being split up by Rick. There are too many of the same photos between the 2 links to think that is a coincidence.

I have bought from Rick in the past and agree he is an upstanding seller but it is also common knowlwdge,at least I thought, that he DOES split albums up and cherry picks from some of the albums he sells thru his sight and ebay.

I believe Rick sells the albums he picks up intact....not broken up. He also buys large or small groupings of photos. Most of his loose photos are sold on his two ebay sites whereas his albums are sold on his website.

I cannot say anything in reference to the other seller as I don't know or ever have bought from him. I also do not collect Kriegsmarine. It appears Sudek13 and his merry munchkins have changed direction if they are bidding on U-Boat stuff....hmmm!!! that might give a few of us a chance as some of the Panzer shots and maybe even some knocked out/Captured German stuff. Good Hunting ya'll.

Another thought is the photos are repros. Ive seen the same thing as of late with some very nice LAH panzer pics. 4 different sellers on ebay offering the same shots.......

Rick occasionally breaks albums when he thinks it is ok, that's all. Business practice.

I often ask ebay sellers with $$$ to stop auctions, preventing precious group from split. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. When I succeed, sellers appear to get many complaints & threats. But they wouldn't pay what I paid - for example they pay 300 for one picture they like but not 3000 for the entire group.

There are many classes of collectors, not everyone thinks of keeping history. Some just want only beautiful butterflies in their collections. I would be able to collect easier if I can eliminate "one-picture" buyers but that cannot be the right way of course! Such is life.

I am really nervous about a recent deal this gamdivision. It was for over a hundred dollars worth of panzer 1 pictures. It does not seem like much but since I am still in college it is alot to me. It has been over a week since them said them sent it out and I wrote them an email that I have not heard back from them regarding. I think he is an honest guy but if this item was lost in the mail not only am I out of over a hundred dollars but a valuable piece of history was lost.

I have had no problems with Rick, except I spend too much , and all the items have arrived to me safe and sound.

Was the package insured or sent with a courier company?

It could just be a pre Christmas postal glut.

              Cheers

Unfortunately in this collection business it is a business and some people are out to make money, who wouldn't when collectors pay huge amounts of money. I know I have.

People collect what interests them and in this game some collect individual pictures and are not interested in the soldier's story only the images shown and do not need the rest. Other like to collect the whole story of his life on/at/near the front.

Not a lot can be done about it. Buy and collect all the sets you can afford and keep them as such. As the years go buy IMO these will increase in value as the story/history is still intact.

                Cheers

Akira, I agree with you completely on the thoughts about splitting groups up.

I've had past dealings with him that have gone very well. It was not insured as far as I know, I am still waiting to hear back from him. They were amazing pictures IMHO and it would be a shame if they were lost.

Just like to share a recent experience with Rick White and see if anyone can help in any way here.

This is from a KC winner album:

I saw your thread sunny59 - no need to post this same message throughout the forum.

Well, the thread was removed without any kind of explanation and still waiting for my refund from Mr Rick White Historical-media.com since march 2008.

Why was the thread removed? I found this selective sencorship that has been occuring lately on the forum problematic. Jacques

Well I have been dealing with Rick for a few years now and I nver had any problems myself. But I do think it's strange if a thread is removed without an explanation. I don't think this explanation should always be open on the forum, but I do hope that the person who starts a thread gets an explanation in private about what is the reason why it was removed.

                              Regards
                              Peter
