Another winter landscape. A StuG.III Ausf.F/8 with a rare special protection armor for its commander. Compared to Ausf.G, the final version, earlier versions lacked armored cupola, which unnecessarily risked commander's life.

Forgot to mention: Tommy, I really would like to identify your gun, but not yet successful. Yours is now on "wanted list" of mine, hope we'll clear it up in the future. Anyone else can help?

This symbol means Panzer Grenadier Div.FHH.
It was taken on the Narva front in 2.or.3.1944.

More StuG photos

Hey, a few days I didn't look into this thread and now I see that there are lots of new photos. Very nice.

Well, let's continue, here are some of mine:

















They were all made the same day in january 1945 in east-prussia.
The unit fought together with the 292th infantry division, making a counter-attack and throwing back the russians in an east-prussian village.
But I didn't research the StuG-unit so far.
