The preliminary EKII doc is very interesting. Could you do me a little favour and see if the paper's watermarked and if so what it says? The reason i ask is that i have a couple of prelim docs for other medals from Narvik and the paper is watermarked.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

This is a great group! It is interesting that the prelim. EK2 doc was awarded in Narvik and the formal award was made in Oslo by Admiral Boehm
Simon's formal EK2 and Filip's prelim. EK2 are signed by the same man on the same date. I wonder why Filip's formal doc was made later in Oslo (and I wonder how much later than 6/28 was this award doc actually produced)

I think that his IK II might have beed awarded post-mortem.
The Destroyer badge he got dated October 1940, but that was for his Anton Schmitt duty which was already sunk by then. There is nothing else beyond that date and this fact makes me think that he did not survive April the 10th attack by the British.

No, he survived alright.
Thanks to the WAF member, Dirk, we were able to locate his daughter who was kind enough to send us this book written by Willi Weber himself, which is a part of my doc group right now.Attached Files
