That works out to 150€ per document, all documents are to the same guy, and you have all three grades of Frontflugspangen. Plus, DK and Ehrenpokal Urkunden. Plus Ärmelband Kreta Urkunden! This is an excellent price I believe for such a wonderful set.

When I lived in Germany there was no shortage of people wanting to dump Opa's stuff. I picked up some beautiful items from family members (mostly uniforms) and they could not get rid of it fast enough. Maybe now 25 years later there are family members wondering where some of this stuff ended up, and they're being told it was given or sold to some Ami. . .

You are looking at it from a "money" value instead of "personal" value. I was speaking of a time when no matter what an item was worth monetarily, they simply didn't want it. An attitude that is kind of like a mother who screams at her young son to "get that thing out of my house" when he walks in with a snake or lizard. I'm sure there are still people in Germany who can't dispose of that evil "braun" stuff fast enough, regardless of the value. The family in this case is selling a Konvolut for what they think is a fair price; don't be surprised if someone just gives you something simply because they know you're interested along with the fact they don't want to have anything to do with it.

Sorry, Herr Maigewitter, but a lot of people over here in Germany sell their "heritage"...

Some of them need the money very bad, I was in a same situation, thinking about selling the more than 1.200 RAD photographs, my grandfather, as a former RAD officer (Arbeitsfuehrer/Major) left behind.

I did not sell them, and I never will.

                    Michael

                    P.S.

P.S. One of these days, I will to give all these photos, and other material, to a person, interested about all this, but NOT to a person, who wants a profit.

Werner - you might want to check the spelling of that name. Are you sure it isn't Paul-Werner Hozzel? There were no Stuka men of that rank by the name of HOSER.

If you look on E-bay you'll see plenty of current medals for sale being traded for cash almost as soon as the recipient soldier or ex-soldier can get rid of them. I even recognised a grouping sold a few years ago to a guy i served with in the late 90s. Those of us who actually care about these things are very much in the minority.

When I was stationed in Germany in the 70's, I had strangers give me things but couldn't get my relatives to part with any thing!
