I have seen, and had, many of them. I used to pick them up now and again at the fleamarkets in Germany in the 70s. I sold most of them over the years, but did keep a few. Right now I can only find a photo of one of them.....a Kriegsmarine one. It is in rough condition, and is somewhat faded in the signature, typed info............etc.. Here is a photo of it.

I did a quick check in one place that came to mind, and I found this one that I just scanned. It is a bit different than yours, but I have seen a few different types. I have one more I know for sure......just don't know right off where to look for it. It is more like yours.

I don't have any scans handy, but looks good to me. I've had a couple of them, and the Wehrmacht ones I've seen have all been for Russia...the KM are often U-boot guys. Anybody seen much variation in those themes?

Looks good to me. Your guy actually died in June 1942 during the fighting in the Crimea, it's quite normal to see some months gap between the date of death and the paperwork catching up.
