Question about Stalag XA marked photos

Hi, I just picked up a pile of these French photographs but marked on the back of each of them was the stamp for Stalag XA. The shots don't look like a POW camp at all, maybe I'm wrong, so I was wondering how they got stamped. Do you suppose a German grabbed a Frenchman's camera and developed it himself? I'm sure they didn't have development services in a POW camp, right? Any opinions would be appreciated. I've included a couple scans below. Thanks. - Rob

I think the stamp was put on by the Stalag censor and it would have been either to permit the owner to send these by mail out of the Stalag or it was to give him official permission to keep those in the Stalag .. but my best guess would be that these were the official release for the photo to be posted in a letter out of the Stalag. Cheers, Torsten.
