Hey at all, im from germany and i have an amazing book for you:

SS Kavallerie im Osten, published in 1944 by Westermann, Braunschweig.

This book is hugh sized. Its probably one of the rarest SS publication of the third reich. Definite under 1000 exemplars.

Yes it is a very rare book in any condition. Below is my copy...its the only known copy still with original dust jacket (book is near mint DJ is in poor condition) enjoy!

One, or both of you, should consider getting a Publisher to 'Scan' the Book - & re-issue it for Sale!!! Otherwise 99.9% of Collectors will NEVER get to See or Read this book!! (Just a Suggestion) ....... Dave .....dblmed

Thanks for posting photos of this scarce publication. The dust jacket is a rare beast.

The book was published in 10,000 copies. It was not available for sale; the SS paid for the order and all copies were shipped to them for internal distribution.

The credits page contains the note "Die Herausgabe besorgte SS-Oberscharführer Werner Rucktäschel." In some copies, there is a paper strip pasted over the original text with the more official-sounding information, "Herausgegeben durch die Bildstelle der SS-Kavallerie-Division."

By the way, you really should put a plastic dust jacket sleeve protector. I can find them in the USA for sale at used book stores or on the internet look up Brodart or Gaylord.com

Hey dave, there is allready a newer publication of this book, published in 2004. Please visit www.eurobuch.com and look for "SS Kavallerie im Osten" an you can buy it for about 50 $.

I have seen one copy of this book was for sale years ago for realy good money,I think it was in 1992 and the price was 500 mark
