Hello Jörg,
Was that the album which was sold on ebay.de some months ago? I decided not to bid because I bought some other photo albums, but sometimes I regret it.
The photo from the SS-Obersturmführer with the shield is really great and extremely rare. Do you have other photos from the owner in SS uniform with that shield? I know of one photo with the Bengal tiger head collar tab and should be extremely interested to see more
Best regards,
Cees

Hello Cees,
this album comes directly from the owner/his widow.
It´s the man in the SS-Uniform.
I saw an album on Ebay before too, but there were many reproductions in it, so I did not bid on it. Is it the same album you saw too?
The photo with the SS-Uniform is the only one in the album. The others are made earlier in Germany, Holland and France.
Best wishes
Joerg

Hello
Jörg, fabulous photos and extremely rare photos. Thansk for sharing those.
If I remember well, I think that a SS Officer jacket with the death's head collar patch was shown on Bender's "Military Advisor". This was not a period photo but a contemporary one. Sorry but I don't remember the exact issue number. I also believe that on a Bender book dealing with medals (probably Angolia's), a Azad Hind document is also shown. The recipient's rank was a SS one (SS Ostuf. if my memory serves me).
There is also a well known photo where we can seen Indian volunteers wearing a SS EM buckle. To my knowledge, it is the sole photo where Indian volunteers are shonw wearing SS artifacts.
BTW, on the very good site of Robert Noss (www.photosammler.de), several pics of Indian volunteers are displayed.
Thanks again
Regards
Denis

Indisches Legian
Hallo Joerg!
Do you know the name of this Waffen-SS Officer from the Indian Legion? He looks a bit like Franz Ausmeyer, a Signals (Nachrichten) Officer from the Legion.
I have a photo of him from before the war in the uniform of the SS-VT, which came from the Bundesarchiv in Berlin-Lichterfelde. I also have one of Bertling (last commander) also pre-war as SS-Sturmbannfuehrer.
Do you have Rudolf Hartog's book on the Indian Legion? It is very interesting.
Alles Gute !

I like this album too.
Two years ago I made a big mistake. I had a photo-group (60 photos) from a member of the German Staff of the Legion. The group also contained 2 award documents (1 for KVK 2nd. class, 1 for wound badge black) and the original unweared armshield of the Legion. And I was so foolish to trade it!
Here are three more photos from the album, one very rare, showing the owner of the album in SS Uniform with Armshield o the Legion.
I will also post a photo of the translation manual for commands from German to Hindustani.
Best wishes
Joerg
