And here are 2 photos from my collection. They come from an photo album I got this year. The photos are showing Soldiers of the Inf.Regt. 950 (ind.) "Legion Freies Indien".

A late welcome to you, Jörg!

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS! I know Robert has quite a few, but these I have never seen...

And that Infanteriegeschütz and other weapons! What ignited Hitler's anger on these Indians... "What a waste!"

                  Denis,

Your photo described as "paramilitary organisation" is probably post-war East German policeman. Could You share /post detail of cap insignia & collar tab to say it for sure?

                    Hello Lbsr
I can't post any more close ups since I have just a jpeg file for that one. The emblem shown on the cap was very close of the Latvian sunburst hence my assumption but I can be wrong. A definitive answer will be very welcome !!
                    Regards
                    Denis
PS : the concerned photo is posted again to avoid searching in the whole thread

                      Denis,
I tried some filters in Potoshop and here are the results:
                      - cap badge has 12 points - as german Police star
                      - in middle of that badge is probably East German post-war shield (striped horizontally)
                      - shoulderboards are of form used by German Police
                      - on collar patches is button
-uniform is very dark (East German Police used dark blue uniform close to war

                      Latvian in WW2 wore:
                      - their pre-war uniforms (of Latvian independent state before Russian occupation) or German uniforms (maybe Soviet uniforms too)
                      - on Latvian cap badge is rider on horse
                      - Latvian used their pre-war collar patches (to Latvian pre-war uniform) with grade insignia or German so-called "Litzen".

On weekend I 'll discuss my sources (especially of post-war East German Volkspolizei ) and hope I'll be able to make definitive judgement...

                                Hi DC-!

oh, I like your photos too, especially the ones from Inf.Regt. 950 (ind.). Where do you live in Germany? I live in Gelsenkirchen.

Of course we could write in German, but for our english speaking friends we should write in English.

Here are 3 more photos from the album:
