back says basically: Dear Handball-Friends, whilst being rushed off my feet I am letting you have the two photos as promised. All the best, xxxxx ,Team Official [could be the team manager? German says Mannschaftsbegleiter].

It was written on the back of an invitation by the national handball and basket ball co-ordinator to an evening in Berlin in honour of the handball world championships. I would guess that the man that wrote the note was the team manager of the national German team that year.

I used to play handball for most of my youth (we even made it to district champion.... ), but in the UK hardly anyone even knows of Handball .... but there you go....Cheers, Torsten.

Yes, it is very popular in pretty much every country in Europe, but not in the UK...although, there is a Handball league in the UK. When I furst moved to the UK I went to a training session with one of the teams in Scotland. They offered me to join their team full time, but I did not have the time to attend regular training sessions and league fixtures then .... but there you go... and now I am told and overweight to play Handball again properly ... Cheers, Torsten.
