Having participated in exhumating bodies of german soldiers several times, seeing this view from the other side of the miror of time is very sobering.
You dont always realise what you are looking at when you see some old bones in the ground.

While looking at this photo , I kept thinking of the mourning sentinels at the WW1 Langemarck cemetery in Flanders.....
