    German Eagle Order Document

    Evening Gents,

I am seriously considering buying this document. It is in mint order, but I am having problems finding others to compare for price. I am led to beleive that it should come in a document folder. My questions are,

What price should I offer? It is guaranteed from a reputable dealer.
What is it really worth, ish?
Does the Hitler signature look ok? I think it is, but need some reassurance!

As ususal your help is appreciated.

    Regards

    Steve

You know it's only a facsimile sig right and thus has no bearing on the value of this blank doc?

        Simon,

As ususal you are bloody quick with your reply. Many thanks! I am aware that it is not the actual signature. Below is the sales patter!

From the late Gordon Hughes Collection [ joint author of 'A Primer of World Bayonets', author of 'Luger Recognition', and consultant to John Walter's 'German Military Letter Codes, 1939-1945' ]. The highest decoration [from 1937 to 1945] awarded to Notable Foreigners & Dignatories such as Charles Lindbergh, Henry Ford & Benito Mussolini. This class of the award was the same class that was awarded to James Mooney General Motor's Chief Executive for Overseas Operations. Bears signature [not pen] of Adolf Hitler. Excellent condition with large Reich Eagle, Swastika and Wreath embossed stamp. The photographs came out a little blue/grey, the actual colour is cream

The price for sale is £525

          Hi Steve!
I am sure I saw a similar citation during a recent visit to a Dealer in London?
Not sure whether it was " Erster or Zweiter Stufe" - I am pretty sure he was asking around £100?
His story was that lots of these unissued citations were taken by Allied troops as souveneers from storerooms in the Reichschancellory Berlin at Wars end??
Not sure whether it came with a mappe?? - looked ok to me - but I am no expert!!

Well...............£525 is funny money for this. £100 is much nearer the mark.

I bought one of these, with the cover, for £25 about 10 years ago.

Hundreds of them were picked up at the end of the war. They are not all that rare.

There are a number of period Joke ones out there.

One I have seen is made out to Lord Teller and actually signed by Montgomery.

Can't remember if it was a RK or GEO though
