Kurt Mehner in "Die Deutsche Wehrmacht 1939-1945" lists Oberst Wilhelm Heun in command of 83.I.D. from 25.Jan.1944 to Feb.1944 .
The Biblio reference series on German Army Generals list identical dates and also lists him as permanent commander of this division as of 1.May 1944 to 28.Mar.1945
W.Heun promoted to Gen.Maj. with date of 1.May 1944 and Gen.Lt. with date of 9.Nov.1944. K.C .9.Dec.1944 and German Cross i.G. 23.Oct.1942.
DoB 23.May 1895 and DoD 21.Sep.1986
