    General Question - Documents & AH Signature

    Here is a question that has been running through my head.

    On standard awards certificates, say for the 25 year service medal, where it has AH's signature. Obviously this isn't an "auto-pen" so were these signed by staff secretaries or is it part of the actual paper printing ? Or maybe I am wrong and they did have type of mechanical process to affix the signature.....

    Surely Uncle A didn't go to bed each night with an aching hand because he signed 30,000 documents each day. Then again, I guess that would explain the harsh shaking later in the war.

    Rubber stamps were used or the signature was printed on the document with the award text when it was made.

        Another collector also pointed me in the direction of the "pre-printed" documents with a reference source:

        According to the late Charles Hamilton, one of the foremost signature and document collector/dealers in the US in his book "Leaders and Personalities of the Third Reich", Hitler's signature on these types of award documents were printed in blue or black wtih the printing of the document.

        Hope this helps out all those interested in the topic.
