The photos were all taken 22, 23, 26 and 27 October 1940 at Frankfurt/Oder. The Fliegerhorst there was 4 km east of the city and was taken over by the Luftwaffe in 1936. It had a grass runway and was not paved during the war. Although no unit is mentioned on the back of the photos, the scenes very strongly suggest a basic training regiment. The one at Frankfurt/O. in October 1940 was Flieger-Ausbildungs-Rgt. 41, which had two battalions and a basic flight training school called Flugzeugführerschule A/B 41. The Rgt. and school Kommandeur in Oct 40 was Oberst Wilhelm Kohlbach and he undoubtedly appears in some of these photos. Mentioned on the back of the last photo is an Oblt. Wolff.

There are a few other names scribbled on the backs of the other photos but - like you - I can't read them. Perhaps someone else can.
