    Not only is the signature compared with an originel one now we have provenance with the document also!

      Archive plundering and grave robbing is on going in the wonderful world of collecting (not just militaria) and this is just another example. Sadly, the result is that research material is permanently lost so someone can drive a bigger Mercedes.

          I tend to agree with peter. Most items that are donated to museums and archives are eventually "plundered" by non-collectors (in order to drive a Mercedes, I guess). Collectors are and always will be the best preservers of historical items, because they pay for the items and therefore are more protective of what they spent money on.

          Detlev, not much help, but I will glady make a clean copy of this docuemnt and give it to you for your friend. I will bring it with to the MAX.

          Still wondering what a Rommel signature is worth? I am debating onwhether or not to purchase this document.
