It looks like one of the guys in the background is playing golf... a tough chip shot out of a bunker, perhaps!

Not sure what they are doing, but it is a color slide taken during some maneuver in Grossborn training grounds ( Truppenübungsplatz Grossborn ), not in the real battlefield, so guess as you like!
