hello, can anyone please offer any first impressions of this doc.
Does anyone recognise the signature or even the name of the recipient ?

Seems like a good one, but some other opinions would be great.

3./St.G. 3 was definitely in North Africa on 20 May 1942. I cannot read the signer's signature. If someone can read it, then I can tell you if the Oberleutnant was in I.St.G. 3 on that date.

It looks like "Mosdorf" or something similar.

I just checked Fellgiebel's "Ritterkreuzträger" and there's an Oblt. Martin Moßdorf (Mossdorf), Staffelkpt. 3./Stuka-Geschw. 3. He received the RK on 3.9.42. Definitely sounds like the guy you're looking for.

Here is some more on Moßdorf:

I./St.G. 3 (to 11.11.42). 03.09.42 Oblt., awarded Ritterkreuz, Kdr. I./St.G. 3. 01.11.42 promo to Hptm. 11.11.42 Kdr. I./St.G.3 - PoW: shot down by fighters to the east of Hafaya Pass in Cyrannaica. 02.47 released from British captivity. Became a dentist in Munich after the war. †11.01.2002.
