No caption for this one but it was also taken during the Kesselschlacht near Kalach, 7-9 August 1942. Here we have a Panzer IV short-barrel "421" of 4. Schwadron. It's a little bit unclear but you can almost feel the heat and dust of the parched steppe!

Original caption for this first one: "Vormarsch in der Steppe - kein Wasser!" (Advance in the steppe - no water!). Photo taken in the Kalmuck steppe, mid-August 1942. Here we have a Panzer II.

Final one from this album. Original caption for this one: "Potemkinskaja - Donbrücke - 15.8.42" (Potemkinskaya - Don bridge - 15 August 1942). While a stream of trucks from 24.Pz.Div. cross the bridge in the background, an 88mm from IV./Pz.Art.Rgt.89 (24.Pz.Div.) is readied for crossing on a ferry.

OK, here's a few more photos of 24.Pz.Div., this time from an album belonging to the commander of I./Flak-Regiment 9 "Condor Legion".

First one shows a parked column of panzers from Pz.Rgt.24, both Panzer IIIs and Panzer IVs. Photo taken in July 1942 during the advance to the Don.

Next we have Panzer III long-barrel "213" of Rittmeister Spannocchi's 2. Schwadron, Panzer-Regiment 24, during the fighting in the Don bend. The car in the foreground belongs to the flak regiment (note the Condor Legion insignia).

Final one for the moment. This time, it's Panzer III "231", nicely framed by the victory-marked barrel of an 88mm from I./Flak-Rgt.9.

I've got another album belonging to a member of Radfahr-Abteilung 1 (later Krad.Abt.4) of 1.Kav.Div. and it's a real beauty... a battery of NSU Kettenkrad's towing 10.5cm recoilless rifles during Barbarossa! I'll post some photos later, when I've got a bit more time.

Anyone else got any 1.Kav.Div./24.Pz.Div. photos to post?
              Jason

                      Hi Jason:
I was away on a business trip for several days and just found this thread.

Using the posting number in the upper right hand of the post, I believe your vehicles are as follows.

                      1. 1941 Ford 3 tonner and a bit of a mystery. It appears to have a Belgian or Dutch style cab but they got no such year model Fords. The Germans had 1941 year models but I have never seen such a cab/body combination before.

                      2. Citroen T23 and a beautiful 1937 Ford Panel Truck.

                      4. 1937 Ford again and probably a beute vehicle.

                      10. Opel 3 ton S version.

                      12. An outstanding shot of the interior of a workshop vehicle. I have never seen such a view before.

                      14. Renault AGR Beute.

                      16. Seems to be a Horch, possibly an 830.

                      18. Phaenomen ambulance.

                      20. Renault again.

                      28. Morris CS8 Beute.

                      38. Citroen T45 Beute.

Great photos, all fresh, new and not seen by many if any. Thanks!!!

A correction to my last post.
Photo #1 is a 1940 Ford, not a 1941 so that may now place it as eligible to be either Dutch or Belgian which was my first thought.

First of all, thanks Wouter for posting 3 nice photos of 24.Pz.Div. Is there a chance you can post more?

Bill, thanks so much for identifying all those vehicles. Knowing what they are certainly adds a new dimension to the photos.

Seeing how you think the Ford Panel Truck - and its interior - is beautiful, I've got a couple more photos for you. First up is a more detailed view of the interior shot I posted earlier.

Finally, one final view of our little Ford panel truck-cum-workshop vehicle.

                                All the best,
