    KC Postcard Series?

Can someone elaborate on the Macher postcard below as far as it being part of a series? Was this a specific series released during the war of all Ritterkreuz winners? Is the soldier's name always on the left side or is it sometimes on the right? Also, are they ever found with an absolutley blank reverse?

    As always, Thank you!

    Brian

    Hi Brian,
If your postcard is totally blank, this is definbitively a fake. This postcard belongs to the Hoffmann Company who photo'd many KC winners.
On hoffmann cards' reverse, you wil find the serial number of the card as well as the address of the Hoffmann company.
Here is an URL of a website dealing with Hoffmann fakes
    web page postcards forgeries
Hoffmann was not the sole producer of KC winners cards : you can also find Rohr as well as the Film Foto Verlag company. In my opinion, the photos coming from this latter one are more beautiful than those produced by Rohr or Hoffmann. They are very often used by contemporary publishers to illustrate KC winners portraits.
If you need other info, don't hesitater, i'll
    be glad to help you.

      Denis-

Thanks for all the info. It's very helpful. The Macher card above does not ahave a blank reverse - it has the Hoffman logo etc. Is this Heinrich Hoffman or a another Hoffman?

I do have another card that is blank however. It is printed on some pretty lousy paper too. I gambled $8.00 on it..

      Thanks again,
      Brian

        Hi Brian,
the card effectively comes from the Heinrich Hoffmann sery.
However, I am not a specialist in this sery to be able to tell you if it is a wartime production or not. My fiel d of interest for German KC winners postcards is the Film Foto Verlag sery.
I attached below 4 cards coming from this latter sery. Look at the details, they are really amazing.
BTW, I tried to list all the cards coming from the Film Foto Verlag company. Should any forum members would have some of these in their own collection, I would be very interested to know the name of the soldier as well as the R code depicting at the bottom of the card.

Anyway, $8.00 is a cheap price and I must admit that I would have also bought it !
Maybe another forum member will be able to provide a definitive opinion ?
        Regards
        Denis
