    What are these?

A friend found these at a yard sale. My knowledge of the German language is practically nil. Can someone tell me:

    1. What they are.
    2. Their value (if any)

    Back

    Thanks!

The upper card was for "bread" rations and the lower was for special "children's" rations.

The reverses helpfully give recipes for how to cook stuff on these reduced and substitute war ration limits.

To add a bit to what Rick wrote, both of these cards were issued for use in Vienna, Austria (Wien). The children's/youth card was valid for children/youth from 3 to 18 years of age. Cards like these are common (worth about $1.00) and can be found every Saturday at the flea market in Vienna. Elderly Viennese sell all sorts of ids and documents to suplement their pensions. The flea market can be a gold mine for the document/paper collector.
