    Wilhelm Jasimsh

I am doing a paper on Wilhelm from his Soldbuch and was wondering what units Schw.Blankdrahthp.(mot)154, Stab/Naches.Abt.z.b.u 314 in Section C are and what N.E.A.B Hannover in Section D is. His main assignment was with Oberkommando Heeresgruppe Nord.
By the way this gentleman has an entry for the Kurland Cufftitle under the awards section.

    Hello Tim,
As far as i understand, section "C" of a soldbuch details the units of the Field army that a soldier served with, while section "D" has two functions:
    1. detailing the units of the replacement army which were affiliated with the field units in section "C".
2.Detailing units from the replacement army to which the soldier was transferred to from other "Ersatz" (replacement) units.
    As to the units themselves:
    "Heavy. ?. (motorized)154 (sorry,another of the war's mysteries).
    "Stab/nach.Abt.z.b.V. 314 (Staff, HQ /signals battalion.for special duties 314).
"Nachrichten.Ersatz.Abteilung. Hanover" (signals replacement battalion Hanover).
As to what parent divisions/units Wilhelm belonged to,according to a strength return dated 12 April 1945, army group Kurland comprised the following units:
    18th army
    10 corps:121st division, 30th division.
    1 corps:132nd division, 255th division
    2 corps:87th, 263rd,126th, and the 563 Volksgrenadier, divisions
    50 corps: 290th division, 11th division.
army reserve: Libau fortress (HQ 52 security division) 14th panzer division.

    16th army
    38 Panzer corps: 329th division, 122nd division.
6 SS Freiwillig corps: 19th Waffen Grenadier SS division (Latvian), 24th division, 12th Panzer division.
16 corps: 218th division (including 'Kampfgruppe Barth'), HQ 21st Luftwaffe field division,205th division, 81st division, HQ 300th division.

Commandant North Kurland: Coast Commandant (east section), HQ 207th security division,
Coast Commandants north and north-west sections,Fortress Commandant 'Windau' south west section.
    Army reserve: Kurland brigade.
Army group reserve: HQ 201st security division, 15th Waffen Grenadier SS division (Latvian).

So, somewhere amongst all these units Wilhelm served, which is a bit of a needle in a haystack, but it's a place to start at least.........
I hope this is of some use, and with luck one of the regular posters will be able to fill in the blanks further.

    Patrick.
