    Hello,

The result of a simple 2 minute internet search:
    - According to the "lexikon der wehrmacht" the regimental commander for the 3th Panzer regiment in that periode should be: Oberst Lt Von Wagner.

    .....

Thats perhaps the best test before judging the rest of the document.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Would someone in a Panzer Rgt. get such a document, as it's for the single "hand" destruction of a tank?

I can see somebody in a panzer regiment being awarded, as there are more than just Tankers in the regiment. But as Peter says, the signature doesn't appear to match any of the commanders listed in LdW.

That being said, to me (my opinion only) it looks pretty good from this picture. But you'd have to have some sort of real good explanation for the signature.

          Hello,

Please note that the "lexikon der wehrmacht" doesn't state that Oberstleutnant von Wagner was commander of Panzer-Regiment 3 at that time (nov.44). The former commander Major Schneider-Kostalski (m.d.F.b.) was KIA Jul.44 (also a replacements commander because the former commander was also KIA Jun.44). and it is unsure at what date (or month) von Wagner became commander. And when I do some further research on von Wagner he can not be found in the Rangliste 1944-45. So perhaps the name of Von Wagener isn't even correct?

Perhaps there are some Panzer specialists on the forum that can give some help in this?

Regarding the document I do not state it is original or not, but the signature needs more research to proof it!!
