I have never had any ss items in my collection before, but I would like to start with this lot.

can anyone please help me out with the value on these 3 documents.

    Thanks

    Best regards,

Hello, Bruce Herman had two I.C. first and second class documents that were signed by Eicke and he wanted around $1,300.00 each. Hope this helps.

        Regards,

        Grant

          What a Kompanie-Name: "Schlachterei-Kp." (=Butcher Company).

What does "butcher" in this case refer to? Russians?

              Thanks for the answers.

Did Eicke really signed award documents to soldiers with low ranks and with "low" awards like EK II?

Of course he did Andre, he was the divisional commander. KVK and EK's had to be authorised at divisional level upwards. In fact other than a few exceptions a divisional commander or his representative is about the lowest authority level that could sign a KVKII or EKII. You can find them to 'ordinary soldiers' signed by korps, armee level all the way up to OKH and OKW.

the types of award documents you see signed at company, battalion and regiment level are the 'qualification' type awards like WB and assault badges
