Preliminary KM RK doc on Winkler's update

I'm sure many of you have looked through Winkler's update today and noticed the preliminary RK doc to Oblt.z.S. Gerd-Dietrich Schneider, chef of the 8 A.T.Flottille. Well reaching for the relevant volume of Biblio verlag's books on RK holders of the KM surface fleet i was amazed to see another preliminary doc (along with all his other documents) only this one was issued 4 days after the one on Winkler's site and is signed be a different officer, the 7th Oct as opposed to the 3rd Oct (that's the date the doc was issued not the date of the RK award, which was the 3rd Oct 44). Otherwise the docs are identical, well unless you count the angle of the OKM stamp.

Duplicate document, admin screw up or what?

I met with Schneider in his home and saw all his medals and photos. He had a "65" RK, mint, several DK and five or more EK1 and other badges (Kuban and krim as well). I didnt see his docs though.
Schneider told me he was decorated with the RK three different times! First he read about the decoration in a newspaper and borrowed a RK from a staff, i believe in Berlin, with the newspaper article as proof! He then was called to be honoured with the RK by a Admiral in Berlin. He then had two RKs but handed the borrowed one back. He was then called back to port and recieved the (third)RK by his commanding officer/admiral.
Maybe there could be something like that behind this document?

You sad that he get on 3 different times the KC, so maybe he get 3 times the doc. The doc from Winkler looks original for me. It has also the same MPA Nr. on it. Its not the first one how get a second KC doc.

Hello Simon,

It wouldn't worry me to much, I have seen it before that the vet got two vorlaufige besitzzeugnis RK award documents. Why I don't know.
