    Luftwaffe Nahkampfspangen

I came accross these two files. I think they were looked at here before, but that might have even yet been a second, different set.

Scarce, to say the least. Any others?

    Regards,
    Mark

Sorry, Gene, no! Like this 'treasure', and the Portuguese Condor Tank Badge with Award Doc & Photo, I passed these up at George Petersen's old NCHS. I had a private viewing of a whole lot of stuff. I guess I was too googley-eyed over some badge (s).

I'm going to guess the first was awarded way late, because 10 days later he had accumulated 15 more close combat days...

I also find it interesting that although these are terrificly late-war, with the Russians and Americans pounding down the walls of the Reich, somebody took the time to make a hand made urkunde for the 2nd Stufe.

They do make a good impression though. From these pics, they really look great.

          Hi Hank,
He got his Nahkampfspange 2 class 8 days later

BTW, the 2 class document was well made.

Oops! You're right! February is that short month, isn't it.
