Hi Guys, I have got this Adolf Hitler Patenschaft (sponsorship, basically acceptance to become the godfather of a child) letter sent by the Praesidialkanzlei from Vossstrasse 1 in Berlin W8 in September 1935...I have two questions really:
1. Who signed the letter? It is an original inked signature. I assume this would have been the Chief of the Praesidialkanzlei at that time?
2. How many of these sponsorships were taken up by Hitler? I would suspect that there are numbers and statistics on this? I would also suspect that this was not a particularly rare occurence.
It looks like the parents had to apply to receive Adolf's Patenschaft and they got it in this case for their 9th child. They also got 50 Reichsmark with the sponsorship and the letter makes it clear that there are to be no responsibilities to be put on Adolf for having taken on this sponsorship ...
