what branch of service? Photo questions -my mothers pictures

Hi,

I am trying to learn about my mothers life during the war. She never spoke much about her life and role during the war, upon her death I found many boxes of photos and documents. Could someone please tell anything at all about the line of service these people pictured here.

I'll answer you since nobody else has. The chaps in the photos are ordinary Army officers (captain/Majors by the look of 'em)-some have seen combat by their awards. The card is your mother's internal passport for her return trip to Germany in feb. 1944.
