    ju89,

hi , i have a small sepia photo taken by my late father-in -law when he was in the raf in n africa . its a junckers ju 89 in raf livery , other than the roundels and twin tail insignia it has no numbers , it also has windows down the side , would there be anyway to trace which unit used this aircraft ?

Unfortunately It Could not of been a JU 89 as only two were made and both were gone by 39.

There were a number of JU 52 used by various RAF units so it could be one of these.

One well documented one was called the 'Beer Bomber' as its main purpose in its second life with he RAF was to fly to London bringing back loads of beer.
This one simply disappeared one day when some brass hat showed up and flew away with it. But this was later in the war.

Can you show us a pic

        Ok that simplies matters

as No. 12 Squadron SAAF (South African Air Force) used Ju 86 during the African campain.
